Amendments

TNBA would like to set forth a few amendments to redress the issues relating to state selection policy and conduct of tournaments in view of the increasing number of players performing exceptionally in National / International circuit and actuate players to participate and bring laurels to Tamilnadu at higher level tournaments with immediate effect.

  1. The M and Q list shall be prepared in the order of International Ranking of Top 100 in Singles and Top 50 in Doubles followed by National Ranking of top 20 in Singles and top 10 in Doubles. Other players shall be filled in accordance with the State Rankings.
  2. Ranking points shall be awarded to the qualification rounds with every win including that of qualifying rounds with the new raking points system in that order as given below. It is to be noted that promotion to next round through bye would not be counted as win
  3. If more than two tournaments were to be conducted within the championship cycle including the last held championship, the points corresponding to the best two performances shall be taken for calculation of ranking points instead of the grand total
  4. Considering the growing number of tournaments and the transient performances by players during that time, the selection committee shall in specific cases may apply the rule of latest performance record or performance at higher grade events a measure of selection
  5. If necessary during times of selection dilemma, the Association may summon the players in consideration to play trials. If more than two players/teams in Singles and Doubles respectively were to be participating in the trials, the format of selection shall be well informed before the start of the trials to all players concerned.
  6. In an attempt to accommodate top players of the State who are supposedly occupied with packed International calendar or for other reasons deemed fit, TNBA Organising committee shall make a Super draw wherein the top few players are drawn directly to the Quarter final stage of the tournament while other players compete amongst themselves until that stage
  7. The points 1 to 6 also implies that besides the leverage through aforementioned points, no player is entitled for any reservation in selection to the State quota whatever his/her National/International Ranking may suggest
